Cold tree in the night

Looks like someone has a black thumb...and it's not me this time!! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/l/l…" width="19" height="19" alt="" title="La la la la" />
Most intriguing is the usage of orange against the black background, the highlighting is something fresh and new to my critiquing, and reminds me of the nerve system of the body in a strange way...surreal!
The ground seems off putting however, like it should've been used more to it's advantage rather than just being placed there...then again, it does give something to contrast with as well as give strucutural aid to the tree, so it's not too bad.

In conclusion: An inventive usage of highlights and contrast that shows life where there is usually just death, kudos to such an artist who can find beauty in any and all things. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="19" height="19" alt="" title="Worship" />
